OAK (Outdoor Adventurous Kids) Club

2026

OAK (Outdoor Adventurous Kids) Club gave children the opportunity to enjoy a varied programme of outdoor adventures, practical challenges and unusual activities. Each week brought something different, from lighting campfires, cooking pancakes on top of a can via a candle, pumpkin bowling, Orienteering their way back to the school (from a dropped location) and a Scottish Burns Night celebration. The club also offered exciting weekend adventures, including a target practice day at Thriftwood Scout Campsite, a session at Clip ‘n Climb Ipswich, Ringo’s/tobogganing at Suffolk Leisure Park and a six-mile night walk around Sudbury followed by an overnight stay at school. Through these experiences, children develop teamwork, resilience, independence and problem-solving skills while embracing the outdoors. The variety and element of surprise made every session an adventure, with children never quite knowing what exciting challenge awaits them next!
