In Summer term 2023 Year 6 children had a day trip to Calais. They had an early start, travelling to Dover by coach and transferring to the ferry by shuttlebus. Once in Calais they had a walk around the town, looking at the differences between French and English towns. The children had opportunities to practice their language skills when they visited the boulangerie to buy cakes and again at the kiosks at the beach where they bought frites (chips), crepes, gaufres (waffles) and glaces (ice cream).  After a busy day the weary group travelled back on the ferry and bus for a late arrival back home.
