SPORT PREMIUM REVIEW (2016-2017)

We welcome the opportunities provided by the Government’s PE funding initiative.
In 2016-2017 we were allocated £8,585.

How we spent our funding in 2016-2017:

100% of Years 3, 4 & 5 pupils to be provided with one term, for each year group, of swimming lessons led by a qualified instructor at a local leisure centre. £3,794 Achieved.

14 out of 15 pupils met the national curriculum requirements for swimming by the end of year 6.

This learning opportunity remains in place for 2017-2018.
100% of our Year 5 & 6 pupils to access one term of cricket coaching led by a qualified coach. £1,425 Achieved. This learning opportunity remains in place for 2017-2018 and is being extended to include Year 4.
100% of our Year 5 & 6 pupils provided with the opportunity to use, on a weekly basis during the Autumn & Spring Term, the facilities of Finborough Private School Sports Complex. £0 Achieved.

Improved spacious facilities enabled our pupils to gain full access to an enhanced year 5 & 6 sports curriculum.

This learning opportunity remains in place for 2017-2018.
100% of our year 5 & 6 pupils to access gymnastics tuition at Pipers Vale Gymnastics Centre in Ipswich led by a qualified. £1,620 Achieved.

This enabled access to gymnastics equipment and instruction beyond availability in school settings.

This learning opportunity remains in place for 2017-2018 and is being extended to include Year 4.
100% of Year 5 pupils to be provided with access to the opportunity to gain a British Canoe Union (Paddle Power Qualification) £0 Achieved.

12 children were successfully introduced to kayaking and passed their Paddle Power Level 1.

100% of Year 6 pupils to be provided with access to the opportunity to gain the RYA (Youth) Sailing Level 1. £2,698 Achieved. This learning opportunity remains in place for 2017-2018.
100% of our key-stage 2 pupils to be provided with access to after school clubs provided by sport coaches and school staff. £1,101 Achieved.

100% of our pupils to be provided with the opportunity to participate in competitive tournaments against other schools (SSCO). £300 + £750 (SSCO) Achieved. This learning opportunity remains in place for 2017-2018.

Year 6 to have the opportunity to be appointed, following an application process led by a Governor, to the role of Sport Council. £163 Achieved To be re-launched in the academic year 2018-2019.
