We welcome the opportunities provided by the Government’s PE funding initiative. In 2015-2016 we were allocated £8,500 and, in addition to this, we allocated a further £15,130 from our school’s delegated budget.

SPORT PREMIUM FUNDING (AIM, IMPACT & SUSTAINABIITY) REPORT (2015-2016)

100% of our key-stage 2 pupils with a weekly PE/ Sport lesson delivered on-site by a specialist coach. Achieved. We are currently reviewing our providers (Autumn 2016) and will be entering in to new contracts from January 2017.
100% of our pupils provided with the opportunity to use, on a weekly basis during the Autumn & Spring Term, the facilities of Finborough private School Sport Complex. Achieved. Booked again for 2016-2017 academic year.
100% of our key-stage 2 pupils to access gymnastics tuition at Pipers vale Gymnastics Centre in Ipswich led by a qualified coach. Achieved. Booked again for 2016-2017 academic year.
100% of Year 3, 4 & 5 pupils to be provided with one term, for each year group, of swimming lessons led by a qualified instructor at the local leisure centre. Achieved. Booked again for the academic year 2016-2017.

NB: this will be extended to year 6 pupils in the academic year 2016-2017.

100% of our Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 pupils to access a dance and performing arts day led by external instructors. Achieved. Booked again for 2016-2017 academic year.
100% of our Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 pupils to access one term of cricket coaching led by a qualified coach.

NB: All 22 children offered the opportunity. 21 children took up the opportunity to participate in Tuesday evening sailing sessions.

Sustainable Sport Provision

It is vitally important that any provision we develop, through the use of our Sport Premium funding, is sustainable year on year. The document below identifies our planned use of the funding provided during the academic year 2016-2017. This year we are expecting to receive £8,695

2016-2017 Sport Premium Aims:

To introduce contact rugby training and competitions, working in partnership with the local rugby club and private schools, to our year 6 pupils.  100% of our Year 5 & 6 pupils to be provided with an endurance sport opportunity (Coast 2 Coast Cycle) to develop the School games values, personal fitness and a passion for sustainable transport methods. 100% of our Young Sports Leaders & Sport Council members provided with the opportunity to visit the Sainsbury School Games.
100% of key-stage 2 children provided with the opportunity to be watch and support at a local team (Ipswich Town Football Club).  100% of our pupils to be provided with the opportunity to participate in competitive tournaments against other local schools.

 

100% of our pupils to be provided with the opportunity to officiate in intra-school events.
Year 6 pupils to have the opportunity to be appointed, following an application and interview process led by a Governor, to the role of Sport Council. Update our sport resources (Rolling programme) 100% of pupils to participate in a school sport festival.

100% of Year 6 pupils to offered a distance swimming club. 100% of key-stage 2 pupils to participate in a swimming gala. To develop closer links with additional local sport clubs beyond our current provision.
